Advanced PET-CT at the QEII

Bringing the most advanced cancer imaging technology to Atlantic Canada.

PET-CT at the QEII

Diagnostic Imaging is part of the QEII cancer care team that helps diagnose many cancers in the province by using a PET-CT machine.

PET-CT’s are crucial in a patient’s cancer diagnosis as it helps healthcare teams determine where cancer is located, if it has spread, how well they’re responding to treatment, and what the likelihood is of their cancer returning. The QEII has the only PET-CT in Nova Scotia, which means we see patients from every community across our province.

Thanks to our donor community, including QEII radiologists, and Nova Scotia Health, we’ve provided the most state-of-the-art PET-CT technology available: PET-CT with extended field-of-view. This best-in-class technology allows teams to detect smaller traces of cancer than ever before.
