Personalized Radiotherapy

Canada's first cancer-fighting technology, right here at home.

UNLOCKING PERSONALIZED RADIOTHERAPY AT THE QEII

Canada's firsts in cancer care are happening within the walls of the QEII Health Sciences Centre and donors are at the forefront of making that happen.

The QEII recently became the first hospital in Canada to obtain images of human trial participants on an Ethos therapy system equipped with the new HyperSight™ imaging technology. The ultimate goal of this innovative technology and its accompanying research is unlocking fewer radiation treatments, better cancer outcomes, reduced side effects, more time at home with family, and reduced financial burden on patients and the healthcare system.

This is only possible thanks to nearly 13,000 donors who generously invested $8.5 million as part of our We Are campaign. This includes a $1-million donation from BMO, a $500,000 matching gift from the WM Fares Family Foundation, a significant investment from the MacDonald family and the Jack and Joan Kiuru Foundation, as well as the incredible dedication of riders and supporters of the 2022 BMO Ride for Cancer.
